How a Tractor GPS Works

GPS guidance on tractors works by using satellite signals to provide location data, which is then processed by the tractor's GPS receiver.

This data is displayed on a screen in the tractor cab, allowing farmers to navigate and operate their equipment with precision.  It enables farmers to navigate and work their fields with sub-inch accuracy, improving productivity and yield.

The GPS signal is transmitted to the base, which processes it and then transmits the signal with RTK corrections to the receiver installed on the tractor, providing up-to-date data to plot an accurate route without distortion, as is the case with conventional GPS navigation.

GPS-based applications in precision farming are being used for various tasks, including tractor guidance, field mapping, soil sampling, and crop scouting, and have significantly enhanced farming operations.
