We want to help you understand how rural living can affect your health.

And as a quick aside --- we are here to help you purchase a new tractor when the time is right.

Let’s get to it.

Are you ready?

Question… do you want to get healthy or even healthier?

The heck with the city fads then. Rural living can help you get and stay in the best shape of your life in more ways than one.

Rural Living

Living in a rural area is a great way to establish some peace in your life.

You can also slow the pace of your life while clearing your head.

While many people associate rural living with farming --- they overlook or have not been exposed to the fact that there are legitimate health benefits to this lifestyle.

We're going to explore some major health benefits to rural living and why it may be the perfect lifestyle choice for you.

Let’s dive right in!

Health Benefits

Food

Rural living offers the opportunity to eat organic, fresh foods grown in your area or on your own farm.

While urban living seems to offer the convenience of grabbing a meal at will --- the food is typically not the best quality. Much of it is fast food or food that has been transported for a long-distance and less nutritious.

If you live in a rural area, you may be more likely to cook your own meals and get the health benefits of a good diet. This would include eating foods with less sugar, fats, preservatives, and chemicals.

Community

People in rural areas depend on one another.

They get to know each other. Small towns seem to breed close-knit communities.

Cities are crowded. They are not typically as kind and welcoming as rural areas. There are exceptions of course.

One major health benefit in rural areas is that community ties tend to be great cures for the levels of depression caused by the loneliness of the big city.

Exercise

If you have a farm, the physical work never ends.

This leads to a vast amount of exercise and active living.

Even if you are not farming, you will likely find yourself near trails, parks, fields, and other areas which allow you to be active. You will find a lot of great areas to run and walk.

You may have a huge piece of land and decide to build yourself a great home gym or exercise studio.

At the very least, rural living gives you the opportunity to go outside and walk in fresh air, which is a great health benefit.

Stress

Stress contributes to many health problems --- even death.

It also can affect your personality and damage your relationships. While the city offers quick access to stores and activities --- all the people, hustle, noise, smog, and vehicles can wear on you.

Rural living offers space, quiet, space, slower pace, and the opportunity to incorporate more relaxation into your life. These are all major health benefits.

Purpose

It's hard to take pride in your living space when your space is limited to one or two rooms.

This is typical of townhouses, condominiums, and apartment buildings.

Rural living gives you the chance to take care of your land, have control over your property, and find a sense of purpose in your living environment.

Mindset

Urban living leads to a vast number of mental illnesses including anxiety and depression.

These illnesses can be debilitating and lethal.

The relaxed and slower pace of rural living allows for far better mental health.

Pollution

Cities are subjected to a lot of pollutants. Industrial plants, traffic, waste, and more all negatively impact the conditions of the air that people breathe.

Rural areas tend to be free from these problems. The presence of trees, plants, and open spaces tend to mean less pollution.

Classrooms

Better quality of education can lead to good health.

City schools are overfilled with children. This detracts from the quality of education. Teachers have too many students which translates to not being able to attend to the needs of each student equally.

Rural areas don't tend to suffer from this issue.

Students in rural areas tend to get more time and attention from teachers --- which translates to more students going to college or entering excellent careers.

Space

Typically --- young people live more comfortably in smaller spaces than older people.

Older people require more space they have more things.

The stress of urban living (in a confined area) can pose some serious health risks. This is more prevalent as people move into middle age and beyond.

Rural homes are typically large and provide areas to expand and grow into.

Autonomy

Social pressures and advertising affect our minds.

The city is filled with too many distractions and our minds are pushed in many directions from the moment we step out of our door.

Rural living allows you to see trees and fields when you walk outside.

Living out in the country is different. A person can live their life without interference from social pressures or advertisements.

Take a trip out to the rural country and see what it's like to think clearer.

Hopefully, this brief article has helped you understand the health benefits of rural living.
